A TEAM of runners will tackle the Henley half marathon as part of a challenge to run races beginning with every letter of the alphabet.
The 11-strong Alpha Eagles will be among hundreds of runners taking part in the event on Sunday, October 12.
Team member Richard Fothergill, 34, said the challenge began with a half marathon in Amsterdam in 2009.
The runners also took part circus-themed marathon in Bordeaux dressed as clowns, stopping at vineyards en route. Mr Fothergill said: “We literally crawled over the finish line in 30 degree heat.”
Since then they have completed half marathons in Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Fence — the Lancashire village from where Mr Fothergill hails — and Geneva.Others runners have joined them as the challenge has progressed.
