THE construction of the new Townlands Hospital in Henley can finally begin.
NHS Property Services revealed this week that all the major partners involved in the £10.4million redevelopment had signed up and were “ready to go”.
It follows a decade of campaigning by members of the Townlands Steering Group, residents and councillors.
The project was originally scheduled to be completed more than three years ago but was hit by a series of delays.
Developer Amber Solutions for Care expects to take about two years to construct the “health campus”, which will provide services including in-patient, out-patient and ambulatory care, X-rays, podiatry, physiotherapy and dentistry.
