Care home rated good

A CARE home in Sonning Common has been rated “good” by the industry watchdog.

A CARE home in Sonning Common has been rated “good” by the industry watchdog.

Abbeycrest in Kennylands Road was inspected by the Care Quality Commission in November.

The home scored “good” in the five main categories of safety, effectiveness, quality of care, responsiveness and leadership. This is the second highest grade out of the four possible.

The inspectors said they would have liked to have seen some of the home’s projects developed more.

These included Make a Wish, which aims to help residents do things they have always wanted.

Home manager Marilyn Kimayong said: “We have a longstanding ethos of quality and I am so proud of my team for their effort in providing and maintaining a high standard of support for those who live here.”
