Townlands Steering Group continue push for beds

CAMPAIGNERS are to make a final push to convince health chiefs to install 18 beds at the new Townlands Hospital in Henley

CAMPAIGNERS are to make a final push to convince health chiefs to install 18 beds at the new Townlands Hospital in Henley.

The Townlands Steering Group will meet with the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group on Tuesday.

Under the original plans, 18 beds were promised but the commissioning group wants to install five to eight beds at the neighbouring Orders of St John Care Home, with the rest being replaced by a next-day rapid access care unit.

Ian Reissmann, who chairs the steering group, said he would try to convince the group to return to the original plans. He said: ?Time is now short before a final decision is made at the commissioning group?s board meeting on September 24.?

A public meeting will be held three days before the board meeting.
