A GP surgery in Caversham has been taken out of special measures by a care watchdog.

The Priory Avenue surgery received an “inadequate” rating in January but it has now been reinspected by the Care Quality Commission and has received an overall “requires improvement” rating.

It has seen improvement across all assessed areas since the last inspection and achieved a standard of “good” for its caring services.

The practice has more than 7,400 patients on its books and has made improvements since it was taken over by the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust four months ago.
