TOM ESPLEY, principal of The Henley College, will retire next year.
He will leave his post in January after 10 years in the role.
Mr Espley said: We have seen so many students progressing to the best universities in the country and to the very best jobs and apprenticeships.
It is a great privilege to lead such a successful college and I will be very sad to leave.
Under his tenure, the college has been rated very good by education watchdog Ofsted in successive inspections.
Academic results have steadily improved and the financial management of the college has been rated outstanding.
The governors of the college have thanked Mr Espley for his leadership and have appointed a transition group to find a successor.
