Donation helps Shiplake scout group rebuild

Donation helps Shiplake scout group rebuild

The 1st Shiplake scouts have received a donation of £230 from the Henley Lions Club towards improvements at their hut near Binfield Heath.

The money will pay for new wall heaters and non-concussive taps for the toilets to prevent water wastage and flooding.

The scouts are also raising money towards repairs of the hut roof, which leaks.

A cheque was presented by Lions president Wendy Franklin to Debs Boughey, the group scout leader, and the scouts on February 27. Ernie Povey who is assisting with the fund-raising, thanked the Lions on behalf of the group for their kindness. Also pictured is Lion Chris Varnals who organised the donation.

The 1st Shiplake Scout Group has beaver, cub and scout sections catering for boys and girls aged six to 14. For more information, visit www.1stshiplake.org/beavers.html
