THE owner of a Henley barbers may face enforcement action over his shop sign.
Gokhan Gezen, who openend the Best Turkish Barbers in Duke Street in October, is being investigated by South Oxfordshire District Council for painting the frontage without permission and installing signage that’s too big.
The frontage has been painted bright red with white lettering and there are photographic advertisements in the window for which consent is required.
A meeting of Henley Town Council’s planning committee heard that Mr Gezen was not convinced that these are advertisements.
Mr Gezen, from Reading, has said previously that he and his business partner Ayetullah Satlik asked their landlord if the colour for the frontage was suitable and he had said “yes”.
Committee chairman Simon Smith said he didn’t mind the colour.
Mayor Julian Brookes said it was “quite bright” but would look “fine” in Istanbul and Beijing.
