How the couple lost weight

THE Magers’ diet includes a full English breakfast which they have for supper every Tuesday.

Slimming World’s version of the dish requires the fat to be trimmed from the bacon before it is grilled along with low-fat sausages accompanied by button mushrooms, a tomato, unbattered onion rings, potato cubes and either one or two eggs, all fried using a small amount of low-calorie cooking spray instead of oil.

Another of their new favourites is a Caribbean “pepperpot stew” with lean beef, red peppers, potato, rice and jerk seasoning.

There is no calorie counting but they have to count their daily “syns”, such as sugar and fatty items.

Foods such as fruit and vegetables, pasta, potatoes, fish and lean meat are “free”, meaning portions don’t need to be weighed out or measured.

Although the Magers don’t exercise, members are encouraged to do so.
