THE audiology team at the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust will be hosting an event in Henley today (Friday) to raise awareness of tinnitus.
Staff will be offering people advice and tests in a mobile auditory unit in Market Place from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Tinnitus is often described as “ringing in the ears”, although several sounds can be heard. The noise may be in one or both ears, or in the head, or it may be difficult to pinpoint its exact location. The noise may be low-, medium- or high-pitched.
The symptons can affect people of all ages and causes are thought to include exposure to loud noise, stress and ear infections.
