Glass firm in extension fight

HENLEY Glass has appealed after being refused planning permission to expand.

The company, which is based in Greys Road, wants to build a first floor rear extension to provide additional office space.

South Oxfordshire District Council refused consent on the grounds of size, design, bulk and massing and that the development would not enhance the character and appearance of the conservation area.

It said the extension would have an “overbearing and oppressive” effect on neighbouring properties.

The appeal will be decided after written representations.
