Market charge set to increase

WEEKEND market charges in Henley could be increased.

The town council is considering raising the fee from £1,500 to £2,000 per event. The markets are held four times a year.

Deputy Mayor Will Hamilton said the market organisers often made a big profit and suggested increasing the fee by £500 next year and the year after.

Town clerk Janet Wheeler said: “I’m just worried we might be being a bit greedy.”
