Poppy Appeal hits £20,000

MORE than £20,000 was raised by this year’s Poppy Appeal in Henley.

The money came from street and door-to-door collections and poppies sold in the town and surrounding area.

John Green, chairman of the Henley and Peppard branch of the Royal British Legion, which runs the appeal, said: “We’re pleased with the response and the realisation that the need for the work of the Legion is becoming greater. We hope this will continue in the future.”
