MOST people walking along the Thames pathway below Remenham will not have noticed this large metal weighbridge in the courtyard of the former farm buildings which have been converted into offices by the Copas Partnership, which owns the land.

It features the name of weighing equipment manufacturer Avery along with “to weigh five tons”. Presumably, this was originally for weighing trailers loaded with agricultural produce.

Remenham Farm was once a working farm and part of the Hambleden Estate and for more than 70 years the barn became the “Barn Bar” during the regatta.

The land was sold to Copas in the Seventies and it restored and upgraded the old buildings for commercial use.
