WALKING from Crazies Hill through the woods towards Warren Row you will find several curiosities, including Rebecca’s Well with its biblical quotations and the garden of a private house with a model railway track running around it, complete with cutting, bridge and viaduct.

Deep in the woods you may walk over Mike’s Bridge, where the streams and ditches meet and take the storm water down the hillside. The bridge has a concrete tube running through it and in the summer, when it is dry, children dare one another to crawl along it. Right now, though, it’s pretty wet! There is a plaque on the bridge which reads: “Mike’s Bridge. Like Humpty Dumpty, he sat on a wall, fell asleep and had a great fall! Summer 1995.” Does anyone know to whom and what the words refer?
