YOU will have to look hard to spot this small plaque on the Berkshire side of the royal regatta course adjacent to Remenham church.

It simply gives the name Leo Blockley, his dates and the inscription â??Will be here for everâ?.

It marks the drowning of a 21-year-old Oxford University rower during training in Spain 2000. A campaign was launched afterwards to increase the safety of rowers in the event of a capsize, which is fortunately a rare occurrence.

Leo had been working towards competing against Cambridge. His ashes were scattered on the regatta course in May 2001.
