Great War memories

THE trustees of Peppard War Memorial Hall want to hear from anyone who has family stories connected to the First World War.

The hall, in Gallowstree Road, was built as a tribute to local people killed during the Great War and features a plaque with the names of local soldiers who never returned.

The trustees hope to hear from anyone with a story to tell about their relative or other connections to the war.

An afternoon tea party where people will be invited to tell their stories is being planned for August 4, the date Britain declared war on Germany in 1914.

For more information, call Clive Mills, chairman of trustees, on 01189 724154 or email clivemills@peppardcommon.freeserve.co.uk
