NEWS: AN APPEAL

We, the undersigned, appeal to the young men of Henley and District between the ages of 19 and 30 where possible to forthwith join the Regular Army in accordance with the terms of Lord Kitchener's letter. Applications should be made to Mr W.E. George, of 22, Bell Street, Henly on Thames, who has been appointed Recruiting Officer for the District.

We further appeal to young men over 18 and under 35 who are not able to join the Regular Army to take the earliest opportunity of joining the Territorial Force, as and whne vacancies arise. All within this age limit willing to give an undertaking to join such last mentioned Force should give their names in at once to Lord Camoys, of Stonor Park, Henley on Thames, for the Territorial Horse, or to Mr S Reynolds, of Bell Street, Henley on Thames, for the Territorial Foot.

Arrangements are being made for the necessary drill and for those showing themselves efficient the requisite rifle shooting.
