Youngsters impress at Reading tournament

HENLEY U10s, who split their squad into three sides, got their season off to a good start

HENLEY U10s, who split their squad into three sides, got their season off to a good start on Sunday at Reading Hockey Club.

Henley 1sts, made up of Lilian Graham, Kirsten Botha, Edward Bowyer, Adam Herbert, Lara Bridge and Nancy Gillingham, won all their matches. The amber and blues defeated Reading 1sts 2-0, Maidenhead 1sts 1-0, Marlow 1sts 1-0 and South Berkshire 2-0.

Henley 2nds also won all their matches. The team, made up of Elsie Burgess, Holly Butlin, Jemima Eary, Rowena Hems, Zara Reynolds and Henry Roseff beat Reading 2nds 2-0, Slough 1sts 2-0, Maidenhead 2nds 1-0 and Marlow 2nds 1-0.

The Henley 3rds side of Isla Forrest, Tilly Heverin, Eloise Mirkowski, Annabelle Richardson, Emma Van Duijin and Iona Copland performed well as they defeated South Berks 1-0 and drew 0-0 with Maidenhead 2nds. The only defeats for the side was 1-0 against Marlow 3rds and 2-0 against Reading 3rds.
