HENLEY’S 7-2 victory at Staines last Saturday means that a win this Saturday by three goals or more against Eastcote will see the amber and blues crowned MBBO Regional Division 1 winners.
The visitors headed into their penultimate game of the season knowing that only a win would do if they were to hold any hope of winning the league and automatic promotion.
With the squad back up to full strength with the return of Jody Measures and captain Roy Cox, the Henley side achieved their goal.
The game started brightly with the sides sharing possession and chances equally. The aerial threat from Staines’ right-hand side was causing some issues in the Henley back line and the visitors’ counter-attacking was creating chances but with no real results.
