Henley maintain unbeaten record with derby day win
Marlow 1sts 1, Henley 1sts 1
HENLEY made it three wins out of three in the South Hockey League Premier Division 2 table at Marlow on Saturday.
The visitors took control of the game early on and were creating plenty of chances. Chris Green was running circles around Marlow’s sluggish defence but insisted on going for the glory shots that the competent Marlow keeper kept patting away.
The opening goal came after good work from Joyce in the middle of the park and firing the ball into the circle, Green helped it towards the goal and it took another deflection to loop over the keeper.
Soon after Green would have been through on goal had it not been for a deliberate kicking of the ball by the Marlow defender that resulted in him being sin binned for five minutes.
