HAVING started the day bottom of the table, Henley started Saturday’s match showing ability to keep possession and attack in force.
The hosts took the lead from the third of 10 short corners taken. Rogers dragged the ball out speedily to stick-stopper Shaw.
Karen Walker slipped the ball to Kat Green who had a disguised shot at the far post which the goalkeeper saved but it was Emma Walker who pounced on the opportunity to score.
Approaching half-time, concentration slipped and Henley conceded an equaliser from a poorly defended breakaway goal. The second half saw opportunities for both sides to take the lead but it was Henley who were able to capitalise from another short corner.
This time, the slip to Green found her in space and able to take on the defence and goalkeeper where she beat two defenders and cleanly slotted the ball past the keeper.
Henley followed this dominant period of play with a further four short corners but, despite attempting variety, none were converted.
As the last five minutes approached the win was in Henley’s grasp but lapses of concentration in man-marking resulted in an attacking phase for Aylesbury and in the last seconds of the game they were awarded a short corner.
The final whistle blew, allowing the Aylesbury team to take their last opportunity which they put away to level the scores.
