HENLEY lost a further two players to injury prior to last Saturday’s 5-2 defeat away to Spencer 1sts.
Travelling to London with just 12 players, Henley were immediately under pressure defensively and went 1-0 down after 10 minutes.
The visitors created a number of good attacking opportunities but were unable to convert and Spencer worked well on the counterattack scoring two further goals before half-time.
Henley pulled a goal back early in the second half following a well worked short corner from Rachel Herbert that was finished by Metcalfe.
Spencer restored their three goal advantage before good work by Walker down the right enabled Morrison to net the visitors’ second of the match to reduce the arrears to 4-2.
Henley continued to push to try and get more goals but left themselves open to the counterattack as the hosts netted once more.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Henley Ladies 1sts entertain Surbiton 2nds at Jubilee Park (push back 11.45am).
