Bracknell’s late strike denies amber and blues

HENLEY 3rds got off to a solid start to the season with a 3-3 draw in

HENLEY 3rds got off to a solid start to the season with a 3-3 draw in their first friendly of the season on Saturday.

A short corner from Bracknell got them off to an early start before a decisive counter by Henley resulted in substitute Ian Rechner flicking the ball past the keeper for the equaliser.

Henley gave the opposition no chance to come back with another sterling counter and once again Rechner beat the keeper for his second goal.

Bracknell equalised early in the second half. Late in the game Henley won a short corner after good dribbling by Fred Newbold. Jules Herbert picked up the ball at the top of the area and flicked it into the top left corner of the goal.

This goal upped the Henley spirits and more attacks led Rechner to take an audacious effort which rebounded back off of the crossbar.

With time running out Bracknell broke away with the last play of the game to level the scores once more.
