Small but beautiful cycle ride from village pub and back

Small but beautiful cycle ride from village pub and back

A COMMUNITY bike ride took place in Kidmore End.

The cyclists met at the New Inn in Chalkhouse Green Road for the
10-mile challenge.

They then rode to Stoke Row and back before enjoying hot drinks and then lunch.

Sian Allen, from Tokers Green, took part with her daughters, Chloe, 10, and seven-year-old Lara.

She said: “We decided to take part in this community event as we wanted to do something active with the kids.”

Dora Szynborska, who runs the pub, said the number of participants was small as the ride had been organised at short notice. She said: “It went nicely but it was a shame a few more people could not come.

“There was one family who took part with their children and they really enjoyed it.”

Ms Szynborska said she hoped to organise a festival at the pub in the summer with bands performing to raise money for charity. “I would love it if people from the community wanted to get involved,” she said.

“This time it was a bit short notice but in the future we will organise things more in advance so people will know about them.”
