Author’s wartime thriller encourages pupils to read
AUTHOR Robert Rigby held workshops with pupils when he visited Icknield Community College in Watlington.

The Oxford-based writer released his latest book, The Eagle Trail, an action adventure thriller for youngsters last week.

The book is set during the Second World War in German-occupied Antwerp and is centred around 16-year-old Paul Hansen.

After his father is shot Paul learns that his parents are part of a group of resistance fighters and he’s whisked away by his father’s closest friend, to the home of an elderly couple.

There Paul learns he must leave Antwerp as quickly as possible and travel south through France and across the Pyrenees into Spain, and from there to England, and freedom.
