A Hambleden author has released a new book about the history of whisky.
Alice Parsons, who splits her time between the village and Sydney, Australia, launched The Lore of Whisky at Burrow Farm last Wednesday (3).
About 80 guests attended the launch at the estate, which is owned by Mrs Parsons’ parents Millie and David Palmer, including Sir William and Lady McAlpine and actor Sir Timothy Ackroyd.
More than 120 books were sold at the event, as guests were treated to samples of whisky from around the globe.
Mrs Parsons, 55, said: “I was really pleased. Mostly everyone arrived which was fantastic and everyone had a great time. Some of us kept going until 11pm!
