Poetry to the death

A SHOW for fans of everyone from Eminem to Christina Rossetti takes place at Cornerstone in

A SHOW for fans of everyone from Eminem to Christina Rossetti takes place at Cornerstone in Didcot on Saturday, May 30.

Teacher turned spoken word expert Mark Grist and MC Mixy will deliver very famous words from some very dead poets like you’ve never heard before, in their new show Dead Poets Death Match.

It takes the shape of a rap battle between the pair, a frantic competition in which the audience chooses the writers and decides the winner in a battle between, for example, Rabbie Burns and Byron.

Tickets cost £15 (concessions £13.50) for the 8pm show.

See www.cornerstone-arts.org or call 01235 515144.

• Comedian Zoe Lyons’ critically acclaimed solo show from last year’s Edinburgh Festival will stop at Cornerstone in Didcot tomorrow (Saturday) at 8pm.

Mustard Cutter is full of her trademark high energy, brilliantly observed routines and sharp material.
