Meet ‘Mr Impossible’

THE chance to enjoy an audience with British athletics legend Sir Roger Bannister is on offer this month

THE chance to enjoy an audience with British athletics legend Sir Roger Bannister is on offer this month at Reading town hall.

On May 6, 1954, Sir Roger became the first man to run a mile in under four minutes at Oxford’s Iffley Road track — an achievement that had previously been thought impossible.

He will be interviewed by sports presenter Steve Rider at the event on Monday, January 18 — which has been organised as part of the year-long Reading 2016 celebration of the arts, culture and heritage.

The event starts at 6.30pm. Tickets are £10 (with concessions £8) and can be booked by calling 0118 960 6060 — or online at www.readingarts.com
