Club takes honours at Celtic Cup

HENLEY’S Taekwondo Club were the first overall club in the points per student ratio table at last Saturday’s Taekwondo Celtic

HENLEY’S Taekwondo Club were the first overall club in the points per student ratio table at last Saturday’s Taekwondo Celtic Cup which took place in Penarth, Wales.

The medallists were Ben Pickett, silver in the heavyweight colour belt sparring, Harry Boulter, silver in the lightweight colour belt sparring and silver in patterns, Ollie Ealcott, gold in the 13-17 -64kg colour belt sparring and silver in 13-17 patterns, Sam Birks, bronze in patterns and middleweight sparring, Jamie Harmon, bronze in 13-17 patterns and gold in 13-17 -55kg sparring, and instructor Carl Davis, bronze in black belt patterns and -78kg sparring. Speaking after the success, Davis said: “I am very proud of my students’ achievements, as this was the first time some of them have ever competed.

“It really shows the quality our club is producing by coming first overall for points per student ratio.

“I teach separate children and adult classes in Henley and soon to be in Watlington.”
