Rupert House pupil secures Podium finish

RUPERT HOUSE pupil Leo Robinson continued his recent run of success at the prestigious London Cup

RUPERT HOUSE pupil Leo Robinson continued his recent run of success at the prestigious London Cup karting event held at the Rye House circuit in north London.

Early rain had dampened the track prior to qualifying. Once in the pit lane Robinson’s team noticed that a dry line was developing and elected to change the kart settings with moments to spare.

This resulted in Robinson qualifying in first place. The two subsequent heats were fiercely contested with Robinson finishing in third and fourth positions, within a few 100ths of a second off his podium rivals.

In the final, Robinson started strongly, catching the front runners after two laps. Robinson managed to pass for third place entering the fast right hand corner at the end of the main straight. Thereafter he drove smoothly, establishing a comfortable gap to the karts behind.

Robinson eventually finished in third position to collect his fifth trophy of his inaugural season in the MSA Bambino championship.
