Motoring enthusiast BEN STODOLNIC, a pupil at Langtree School in Woodcote, loves to spot supercars on our roads. In the latest of his monthly reports, he pays a visit to Hofmann’s of Henley
I WAS given the opportunity to have a road test in a brand new 2016 Lotus Exige by Hofmann’s of Henley.
Although the car was still in its “running in” period (conditioning the vehicle for the first 600 miles), at 4,500rpm the manual car picked up speed in a heartbeat. I was driven by Pat, the Lotus Product Genius at Hofmann’s. He explained how Lotuses are bought for real connection between the driver and the car — no powered steering, and a manual gearbox.
Many describe a Lotus as being a “go-kart on the road”. Lotus manufactures its cars individually by hand in the UK, showing they’re a straight-up brand bringing pleasure and enjoyment to the driver.
