WHAT do you think is the target market for Honda’s new Civic Tourer? Labradors, poodles, sheepdogs, setters — oh, and humans in their 40s with families or those slightly older with active lifestyles.
The all-new estate version of the latest Civic — which goes on sale in the UK next spring — could lay claim to being one of the most dog-friendly cars around.
It has a low loading height, making it easy for even the most arthritic of spaniels, while there is a new velour fabric in the rear which makes it much easier to get rid of those hound hairs.
Project leader Adrian Killham said: “This car has been developed for Europe and not just in terms of the road conditions. There is very high dog ownership in the region.”
He added: “When I got involved in the project from the very start my mother-in-law made the point that her ageing dogs were finding it more and more difficult to get in her car.”
