By Jupiter! What a classic

HISTORICS, the Brooklands-based auctioneer, has set the bar high ahead of its summer sale tomorrow, offering a 1952 Jowett Jupiter

HISTORICS, the Brooklands-based auctioneer, has set the bar high ahead of its summer sale tomorrow, offering a 1952 Jowett Jupiter owned by Colchester United’s all-time record goal-scorer, Martyn King.

Launched at the London Motor Show in October 1949, the Jupiter gained instant success with a record-breaking class win at the 1950 Le Mans 24 hour race, followed up with further victories at Le Sarthe and rallies across Europe throughout the early 1950s.

The 1952 Jowett Jupiter is expected to fetch offers in the region of £21,000 to £26,000 at auction.
