BUDDING rock stars from Wargrave will take centre stage as they perform their own concert.

BUDDING rock stars from Wargrave will take centre stage as they perform their own concert.

The youngsters, aged between seven and 18, have formed bands at The Rock Project, a youth group which meets weekly at the Piggott School in Twyford Road.

The group offers lessons in electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals to improve the musical skills of youngsters.

The concert will take place on Sunday at Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke from 1pm. Tickets cost £10, £7.50 for under 16s and under fives can go free.

The Rock Project organiser Harmeet Nandra said: “The students have been working hard all year and this concert is their opportunity to showcase their skills to friends and family.

“We have some talented and hard-working young people in the school and this is going to be a fantastic experience for them that will help them grow in confidence as performers.

“The students are incredibly excited and I’m sure this will be one of the highlights of their young lives when they take to the stage and for the audience, they’ll be able to say they saw them here first!”
