Charity gig’s a ‘Kingly’ gesture

More importantly, he is playing the Concert Hall in Reading later this month in aid of Daisy’s Dream — a local charity dedicated to supporting children through bereavement.

“Elvis” is Ben Portsmouth from Waltham St Lawrence, who will be appearing at the Blagrave Street venue on Saturday, August 20, backed by his 10-piece Taking Care of Elvis Band. A previous winner of the “Ultimate Elvis” contest held in Memphis, Tennessee, Ben is widely regarded as the world’s number one Elvis tribute artist working today.

Tickets are priced £27.50, but the Concert Hall is opening up its balcony to groups and parties of 10 and more which will qualify for a group booking rate of £22.50.
