'Joy de vivre' typifies oven gloves satirists

THE band behind tongue in cheek indie anthem Joy Division Oven Gloves are making one of their relatively rare live appearances tomorrow night (Saturday).

Fronted by Nigel Blackwell, Half Man Half Biscuit are playing Oxford’s O2 Academy.

Witty and dry, sardonic yet never cynical, with their own brand of infectiously melodic yet edgy singalong songs, Half Man Half Biscuit are blessed with a magical capacity to make the most jaded of listeners fall back in love with music all over again.

Doors open at 6.30pm, stage time is 7pm, and tickets are £20 in advance. To book, call 0844 477 2000.
