CLASSICAL music lovers will have a selection of fine local concerts featuring rising young stars to choose from in May, writes Lesley Potter.
The Hambleden Concert season continues at St Mary’s Church in Hambleden next Saturday with a performance of 17th century music by a young ensemble called the Trio of the Golden Age.
Lutenist Elizabeth Kelly is joined by soprano Julia Gooding and Reiko Ichise on gamba to give a Grand Tour of music from England, France, Italy and Germany.
The concert begins at 7.30pm and tickets are available from Hambleden Stores or on the door.
The following afternoon another chamber music concert takes place at St Mary’s Church in Wargrave. Pianist Joseph Jouston and violinist Mari Poll will play a selection of pieces by Liszt, Chopin and Ravel, among others.
