No time for a hkip

THE hKippers (pronounced Kippers by those in the know) make a return visit to the area with an evening at the Crooked Billet in Stoke Row next Wednesday.

This 10-piece acoustic avant-garde band is fronted by Paul Bradley of Holby City and Eastenders fame, and among his wackiest pursuits is a star turn playing the sticky tape. The line-up also includes Stephen Warbeck, Oscar-winning musical director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Andrew Rankin of The Pogues.

The music is all written by Warbeck, who wrote the scores for Shakespeare in Love and Billy Elliott. For table reservations call (01491) 681048.
