King of the keyboards is back to play town’s theatre organ

BRITAIN’S number one organist from the home of ballroom dancing — the Tower Ballroom at Blackpool — comes back to Henley for an afternoon concert on Sunday.

Phil Kelsall will give a guest appearance on the theatre organ in Henley town hall with an afternoon of foot-tapping songs interspersed with his legendary wit. Gordon Mintern, of the Henley and District Theatre Organ trust, said: “Phil has just returned from another successful season in the Christmas show at Thursford, where he is affectionately known as the king of the keyboards.

“The uncanny thing about Phil’s music is that when you listen to it it’s hard to realise Phil is still only in his late forties, and he has truly mastered this instrument of choice.

“A lively welcome will be extended from Henley town hall, where so many of his numerous fans from the south will be transported to the world of Phil Kelsall.”

The show on Sunday, January 12 starts at 3pm at Henley town hall. Tickets are available on the door.
