Catch a folk legend

FRESH from his appearance at the BBC Folk Awards at the Royal Albert Hall, Martin Simpson is to perform a special one-man show at the Nettlebed Folk Club on Monday.

Simpson has had 35 years as a professional musician and is widely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world.

His career includes collaborations on stage and record with June Tabor, Jackson Browne, Danny Thompson, Martin Carthy, Cara Dillon, Steve Miller, Richard Hawley and many more.

He has been nominated 29 times in the 11 years of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards – more than any other performer – with 11 consecutive years as nominee for musician of the year, which he has won twice.
