Orchestra joins choral society for concert

THE Brandenburg Sinfonia have form as an orchestra fit for a king — or at least a king-in-waiting, writes Lesley Potter.

Their appearances include an international opera gala conducted by Richard Bonynge in the presence of Prince Charles.

Next Saturday they will be appearing with Henley Choral Society in a concert featuring the Fauré Requiem and Poulenc’s Gloria.

Henley Choral Society’s music director, Benjamin Goodson said: “The Brandenburg Sinfonia draws together some of the best players from the best-known London orchestras.

“They are very experienced at accompanying choirs, and I’m hugely excited to be bringing them to Henley to add their musical excellence to that of our soloists and chorus.”
