Festival to shine light on home-grown talent

HEADLINE acts aside, this weekend’s Hideaway Festival is set to showcase a wealth of local talent.

The annual festival, whicvh has expanded from its one-day debut last year to cover three days with more than 50 acts, begins tonight, Friday, at the 25-acre Fawley Hill estate.

Among those taking to the stage are Henley “boy band” No Direction HoT Boys, starring town centre manager Pete McConnell aka Posh, alongside Martyn ‘Eek’ Cooper aka Sporty, and Mike Holland aka Scary. They will be ably supported by the After Dinner Bints, Patrick Causer on guitar, Lynne Butler on bass and Kate Cooper on cajon.

The line-up also includes singer-songwriter Megan Henwood, who grew up in the town, returning after performing at last year’s event.

Several acts from last year’s festival will also be returning, including the Tom Michell Trio and Hugo Loudon’s Voodoo Funk Collective.
