Beck, who will be 70 this year, was a guitarist with the Yardbirds as well as pursuing a solo career. He was ranked number five in the 100 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.

He is joined on the tour by his band, made up of Rhonda Smith on bass, Lizzie Ball on violin, Jonathan Joseph on drums and Nicholas Meier on guitar.

Between them the band has played with an eclectic mix of musical stars. Lizzie Ball is concert master for Nigel Kennedy’s Orchestra of Life, while Rhonda Smith has played with Prince, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake among others.

The band will play at the New Theatre Oxford on Saturday, May 17 and tickets went on sale only two weeks ago.
