WOODY MANN, one of the world’s most renowned guitar masters and song storytellers, flies in from New York for an intimate one-night gig at the Crooked Billet in Stoke Row next month.
Described by Crooked Billet chef Paul Clerehugh as “a superlative player, singer andsongwriter” who famously taught Paul Simon to play the guitar, Mann, pictured right, has toured and recorded with a host of great names in the music business, including the Eagles, James Taylor, Janis Joplin, Son House, Bukka White and John Fahey. He will entertain the audience with a mix of American acoustic folk, blues and jazz at the gig on Wednesday, June 12.
Mr Clerehugh said: “Woody Mann is an outstanding singer-songwriter who plays with unbelievable, breath-taking skill. He’s sublime, warm, witty and hugely talented. This is a one-off chance to witness this legendary guitarist in the intimacy of a cosy, informal venue.”
