School choir joins Phoenix

CHILDREN from Caversham Primary School choir will take part in a special workshop and concert with Reading Phoenix Choir this

CHILDREN from Caversham Primary School choir will take part in a special workshop and concert with Reading Phoenix Choir this weekend.

During the afternoon, the children will take part in a workshop with Phoenix’s musical director, David Crown, and in the evening they will join with the adult choir for a concert at St Andrew’s Church in Caversham.

This will feature a programme of music performed by the two choirs, both separately and together.

Helen Wallis, conductor of Caversham Primary School choir said: “The children are really excited about the opportunity to sing with Reading Phoenix Choir and it is a great chance for them to see how they can develop their love of singing in the future. It should be a great concert.”

David Crown said: “I am delighted to have the chance to work with the children from Caversham Primary School. It is so important to me that children get the chance to work on and perform their music outside the school environment. Here they will also get the chance to sing alongside one of the best amateur choirs in the UK. I can’t wait!”

Tickets (£10 adults, £5 children) are available now from 07736 465294 or online at www.readingphoenixchoir.com. All proceeds will go the school’s charities of choice — Water Aid and the RSPCA.
