MORE than 30 people attended the third Henley Jazz Workshop — making it the most successful yet.
Participants were split into four mixed ability groups to learn to play jazz, culminating in a live performance. Ages ranged from 17 to over 80 and the emphasis was on fun and building confidence.
Organisers Carol Crowdy and Liz Jones were delighted with the turnout and talent on show. Experienced tutors Andy Crowdy, Alan Barnes, John Coverdale, Thomas L’Etienne and Annie Parker took the group sessions and gave informative afternoon talks on certain aspects of jazz.
The timetable also included instrument specific sessions and a jam session was added for the first time this year, which proved very popular.
• Next year’s workshop is provisionally scheduled for July 25 to 29. Anyone interested should email Liz Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org
