Here they go again

ROCK and blues guitarist Micky Moody will perform at the Crooked Billet, Stoke Row, on Tuesday.

ROCK and blues guitarist Micky Moody will perform at the Crooked Billet, Stoke Row, on Tuesday.

Micky has strong ties with Henley, having been part of legendary rock band Whitesnake with Shiplake drummer Ian Paice and the much-missed Fawley keyboard wizard Jon Lord, who died in 2013.

While best known for his time with Whitesnake, Micky also enjoyed hits with Juicy Lucy, Frankie Miller, Roger Chapman and Chris Farlowe.

He recently appeared in the BBC television documentary

Great British Rock Guitarists
, which also featured Jeff Beck, Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi.

At the Crooked Billet show he will be accompanied by Papa George, who has long been established as one of Britain’s finest blues vocalists and guitarists, having recorded and toured with Gary Moore, Alexis Korner and Peter Green.

He also famously worked with Jimi Hendrix — and Muddy Waters described him as “spectacular”.

Crooked Billet proprietor Paul Clerehugh said: “Tuesday’s gig is a unique opportunity to enjoy these musicians in the intimacy of this cosy Stoke Row pub.”

For table reservations and bookings, call the Crooked Billet on (01491) 681048.
