A CLASSICAL start to 2016 is in store in Maidenhead, where Norden Farm Centre for the Arts will be celebrating the occasion with a New Year’s Day concert.
The St John’s Chamber Players present this annual concert, now in its 15th year, to ring in the New Year with a feast of Baroque music.
The players will be joined by internationally acclaimed opera singer Miriam Allan.
Miriam has sung with leading orchestras across the world, including the Auckland Philharmonia, Concerto Copenhagen and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
She made her debut at Glyndebourne in 2009’s The Fairy-Queen, before touring with the production to Paris, Caen and New York.
The concert programme includes works by Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and Tellmann. Nigel Wilkinson will be conducting the players, as well as performing on the harpsichord. A senior producer at BBC Radio 3 for many years, Nigel is also a music examiner and teacher.
Tickets are £16 with concessions available, including £5 entry for under-16s. For more details or to book, visit www.norden.farm
