THE new Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft, is coming to Henley for a special service at the town hall aimed at “bringing the community together with carols and Christmas cheer”.

“Christmas Carols with a Heart for Henley” takes place on the evening Wednesday, December 7.

Led by the bishop, with music from the Reading Community Gospel Choir, the event opens with free festive refreshments at 7.30pm for an 8pm start to the carols.

Dr Croft will deliver a Christmas message and a collection will be taken for the Margaret Clitherow Trust. A spokesman for the organisers said: “Come early for a good seat. All are very welcome.”
